Beavers Bend Cabin Rental Tips

A few Beavers Bend Cabin rental Tips as we head into the heavy tourist season…

Many times people only need a one-bedroom cabin when visiting Beavers Bend State Park. There are plusses and minuses to choosing a small cabin.

They’re cheaper. But usually smaller cabins in Broken Bow are located near many others. Tiny lots and scores of other tourists nearby may greet you upon arrival.

When researching luxury cabins in Beavers Bend, pay close attention to how the property is displayed online. Make sure you see a large portion of the cabin property so you’ll know the lay of the land before booking.

Some cabin companies are notorious for only showing a tight shot of the cabin online. When you arrive…it looks completely different. You’re often packed together like sardines. It’s a huge complaint many have when visiting Beavers Bend State Park.

I heard a funny story recently; two honeymooners booked a cabin and didn’t realize they were near a noisy bar with live music. They couldn’t sleep and stormed into the bar to complain.

They should’ve asked the cabin company why there was no mention of their rental being near loud outdoor music.

Our weekends are filling fast at Mountain Vista. Several 2017 holidays remain available, but not for long.

Mountain Vista sits on acres of seclusion in the upscale Southern Hills Addition. In the heart of the Kiamichi Mountains. There are lots of great cabins in the area, but few with a deck view like ours!

August Beavers Bend Cabin Special

August Beavers Bend Cabin Special

Enjoy a free night at Mountain Vista with our August Beavers Bend cabin special…

Arrive at Mountain Vista on August 21st or 28th, stay three and your fourth-night is free!

It’s been another jam-packed summer for us in Beavers Bend. Unfortunately, we have to turn away many visitors because as the old saying goes, “there’s no room at the inn!”

A few days are open near the back to school timeframe, so we decided to give a night away!

Here’s a recent text from guests upon arrival…

“We are having a blast! The cabin is amazing, and we love getting away from the city for peace and quiet!”

If you’ve never been to a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend, make sure to do homework. Stay away from resort and insurance fees along with gouging charges for cleaning and incidentals.

We’ve had an impressive list of great fans through the years at Mountain Vista. Many have been featured on our blog. We’ll stack these people up against anyone and play ball…Checkout our references!

There are tons of fantastic luxury cabins in Broken Bow. However, many are being built near a noisy highway or nearby cabin.

Always research your cabin before booking and make sure it has seclusion and a view. The biggest complaints we hear from tourists staying at other cabins are:

  • Paying add-on fees
  • Lack of seclusion
  • Cheap Amenities

Guests don’t appreciate paying $400/night and having generic hand soaps and paper towels. We go the extra mile and provide Bed Bath and Beyond soaps and first-class supplies.

After a few trips to Beavers Bend, you’ll understand the difference between a rental cabin and vacation home. Mountain Vista is truly our vacation home…

A few dollars more out of our pocket per-guest coincides with having tremendous repeat bookings. We provide free firewood throughout the year…research this and see how many others do the same.

Resort Fees Under Scrutiny

Resort Fees Under Scrutiny

Resort fees are under scrutiny from the Federal Trade Commission according to an article in the Washington Post.

We were the first to take a stand against greedy resort fees in Beavers Bend State Park several years ago. Now, a few cabin management companies in Broken Bow have followed our lead and wave the “No Add-On Fees” flag.

Wyndham Worldwide is facing a lawsuit from customers. Consumers are sick and tired of paying needless fees. I’ve heard a plethora of feedback from Beavers Bend luxury cabin guess and they echo our sentiments…

Resort and add-on fees are wrong.

After I began writing about resort fees in Beavers Bend a few years ago, a few new terms were formed. Hot tub, incidental, cleaning…we’re due for a new fee name soon.

Here’s a quick refresher course…

  • Never pay hot tub fees
  • Never pay resort fees
  • Never pay cleaning fees…unless you leave the cabin untidy.
  • Never pay firewood fees
  • Never pay incidental fees
  • Never pay insurance fees

“Resort fees allow a hotel to advertise one low price but charge a much higher price to a guest when they arrive at the hotel. It is truly shameful behavior,” according to @KillResortFees.

Their website has a wealth of information for the novice to seasoned traveler.

When shopping for a luxury cabin in Broken Bow, pay attention to more than simply the advertised price. Dig through the terms and conditions and look for these unnecessary resort fees.

Resort Fees

Resort Fees in Beavers Bend

I’ve written about resort fees in Beavers Bend for years. Resort fees are bogus add-on fees that can raise your bill at a luxury rental property 20-30 percent.

Maui, our favorite place on earth, has been charging these for years at some hotels. Somehow these guest-gouging tactics made their way across the pacific and landed in Beavers Bend over the past few years.

Our favorite hotel in Maui, the Makena Beach and Golf Resort, has said no to these charges…just like we have at Mountain Vista. We’ve never had add-on fees.

Checkout their recent post about resort fees. Do your homework before choosing any luxury property. Lookout for the “gotchas.”

Our winter special continues through February. Check-in on Sunday-Tuesday and receive a 20% discount at Mountain Vista luxury cabin.

Our busy season for bookings is here. We’re getting numerous reservations each day. Make sure you secure summer and holiday dates immediately. Weekend’s are like gold at Mountain Vista, rarely do we have an opening on Thursday-Saturday.

We highly recommend the Makena Beach and Golf Resort in Maui and are happy they’re doing the right thing.
