“Let It Ring Forever More…”

Ah…love this old tune from Electric Light Orchestra. It instantly came to mind after a call we received yesterday.

A nice lady had been calling numerous cabin companies searching for a quick getaway to Beavers Bend. She’d stumbled across our website among “many others.”  We were the first to call her back and others hadn’t for several days.

It’s difficult to return calls when you’re overseeing 30-80 luxury cabins. How’d you like to be the owner of an expensive property? You hire someone to market it and the company won’t simply “pick up that telephone.”

There are tons of wonderful companies to do business with in Beavers Bend State Park. But if they won’t return your call promptly…don’t let it bring you down!

Let it ring forever more

Call us at Mountain Vista luxury cabin near Broken Bow Lake. Unless we’re on an airplane, you’ll be surprised that we actually return calls and emails promptly.

Hey Man, You’re Posting On My Page…

maxresdefault

I received a nasty, barley coherent message on my voicemail recently that questioned my integrity, She sounded like a female version of either Cheech or Chong. I called back in seconds and may have set the world speed dialing record.

“You’ve been posting on my Facebook page for months and it’s very unethical, I want you to stop,” she said.

This Beavers Bend cabin management person had just shown her true colors. After five-seconds of questioning, I realized she didn’t know the difference between an algorithm and Atoka.

She’d seen our Facebook sponsored ads come across her timeline, and being completely uneducated about social media, didn’t have a clue.

I told her we couldn’t control where Facebook sends our ads and we only post on our mediums. “You’re completely wrong,” I said.

Do you know the difference between Facebook timelines, business pages and sponsored ads,” I asked?  “Hmm…No,” she said.

Huge mistake on her part…she then said “Oh, I see another cabin company on my Facebook page now.”

At this point I almost felt sorry for her. My sentiments quickly turned to her cabin owners. They trust her as a marketing and media expert. Man, are they getting taken to the cleaners.

I began thinking about cabin owners paying her to tons of money to market their $300K-$1-million luxury cabin investments…and she admittedly knows nothing about marketing or social media platforms.

I advised her to do a little research; her cabin owners would appreciate it. I politely told her to never call me again.

I’d love to play her message for you, but there’s no need to crumble her. Despite the fact that while doing global marketing for 30 years, I’ve never received such an incompetent burst of uneducated and rude blabber.

Her ineptness and lack of trying to learn marketing and media 101 is a shot in the heart to her Beavers Bend luxury cabin owners. Many owners are rolling the dice…hoping and praying their cabin management company isn’t living in the media stone age.

She’s stuck in the Paleolithic era.

If you’re searching for a marketing/media and property management company in Beavers Bend, do your homework.

Is your luxury cabin stuck on a website with 30-60 other cabins and you’re not receiving world-class marketing and media?

You have a choice…and it doesn’t have to be Cheech or Chong…

We can help.

No, she didn’t apologize.

You Don’t Want To Feel The Noise…

Tourism is booming in Beavers Bend, low oil prices seem to have little impact on cabin building in Broken Bow. New cabins continue to pop up everywhere…low to high-end.

It’s a good idea to map out exactly where your luxury cabin rental is located before making your reservation. Many are being built near busy highways. Surprise! The sweet sounds of logging trucks and 18-wheelers zooming by at 65 miles per hour isn’t exactly my definition of a relaxing getaway in the forest!

Cabin websites don’t mention this, but it’s something to consider if you don’t know the lay of the land in Beavers Bend. Ask for a 360-degree video of the property before you book a cabin. Don’t simply believe pictures on a website. This will eliminate all surprises upon arrival.

One of the biggest complaints for first-time cabin visitors to Broken Bow is a lack of seclusion. Many are located mere feet away from another cabin. Others are located near a bar or restaurant with loud music playing nightly. How will you know for sure? Ask for the video and do your homework.

Quiet Riot was a great old band, but you don’t want to “feel the noise” when staying in Beavers Bend!

We love logging trucks in the Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma. They’re a staple of our economy, but there’s no need for them to be cranking by your cabin on a busy highway.  Demand seclusion when staying in Beavers Bend.

We offer acres of seclusion away from noisy highways at Mountain Vista. Our 20-mile views and loyal following have made Mountain Vista a popular getaway for several years.

There are plenty of cabins in the area that won’t remind you of C.W. McCall’s hit, Convoy!

Reserve your stay at Mountain Vista soon. Breaker, breaker 1-9…you’ll truly have a “Quiet Riot!”

Hochatown Distilling Company

Update: 6-25-20. Click here for the Hochatown Distilling Company website and tour information.

Hochatown Distilling Company

The Hochatown Distilling Company will open soon near Beavers Bend State Park. This will be a hot spot for tourists to wet their whistles while vacationing near Broken Bow Lake.

Sherri and I enjoyed a nice visit with owner Kerri McDaniel recently. Their beautiful gift shop is already open. The distillery and tasting room will be unveiled soon.

Hochatown Distilling Company

We were greeted with a friendly smile and great hospitality from Kerri as we checked out this new facility. It’s located a few minutes north of the Stevens Gap/Broken Bow Lake exit on Highway 259.

Being a marketing and media guy, I immediately realized they “get it.” The facility is first-class and their gift shop is adorned with scores of high-end merchandise. There’s no doubt the Hochatown Distilling Company will be highly successful.

Approximately two-million tourists visit Beavers Bend State Park and Broken Bow Lake annually. The Oklahoma economy is horrible now with low oil prices, but tourism is booming better than ever in Broken Bow, OK.

Visit the Hochatown Distilling Company during your next trip to Beavers Bend State Park.

Marketing For Beavers Bend Cabin Owners

Marketing For Beavers Bend Cabin Owners

Jerry & Sherri Isbell, Founders of BeaversBendVacations.com

Marketing for Beavers Bend cabin owners is often sketchy. Many owners are forking out 30-45 percent in fees for homemade websites and low-budget pictures.

If you’re a cabin owner in Beavers Bend and find yourself plastered on a website with 30-50 other cabins, how can you compete? Does your cabin have a story to tell? Is it being told in a first-class manner? How many times has your cabin been presented to thousands in the past year?

Perhaps your cabin isn’t being marketed at all. No high-end pictures to compete with everyone else on your cabin management website…no professional video to showcase your vacation home. You have competitors on your website, not teammates. Are you competing?

We have decades of marketing and media experience and can help you. We compete.

I’m not talking about cheap looking iPhone video with a generic music track laid behind it. That’s the easy way out. Simply placing your cabin on a website and hoping for the best against scores of others doesn’t work.

Most cabins have a story to tell. Either from the owner, guests or how the cabin was created. Very few tell these stories in Beavers Bend. Even fewer have the media expertise to convey it professionally.

We developed the first mobile app for luxury cabins in the United States. Thousands have it. Our partner is the company that produces apps for Madonna and the Rolling Stones. They helped us develop Beavers Bend’s most technologically advanced app.

We unveiled professional video and changed the dynamics of luxury cabin marketing in Oklahoma. We can do the same for you.

TravelOK named us a “Place to stay in Oklahoma” and Mountain Vista was featured in the Centennial celebration book, “Treasure’s of Oklahoma.”

Contact us if you’re tired of being stuck on a website with scores of other cabins and wondering, “where’s my marketing and media?”

Are repairs being done to your cabin and you’re seeing no invoices? Do you wonder who’s staying in your cabin and you’re not being told? We believe everyone should know the people staying in their own home if they wish.

Thanks for being one of the thousands who read our blog each month. If you have a question or Beavers Bend topic you want addressed, let us know.

A few fall foliage season dates remain open at Mountain Vista. The Starbucks, s’mores and firewood, along with many other amenities are always included at no charge!

Will My Beavers Bend Cabin Be Secluded?

One of the biggest questions people want to know when visiting the Broken Bow Lake area is “Will my Beavers Bend cabin be secluded?”

There are about 1,000 cabins for rent in Beavers Bend. Some are cheap, under $100. Many are expensive, well over $400 per night. If you’re choosing an upscale cabin make sure to check references and investigate what the term “secluded” really means on a cabin website.

Look for pictures and video of the property perimeter. Do you homework to make sure there are no cabins 30 feet away…you may not want to hear every word going on at the Jones’ Family Reunion next door!

Mountain Vista in Beavers Bend has three-king bedrooms and private decks boasting a terrific view of nature. When gazing westward, you’ll see a stunning 20-mile of the Kiamichi Mountains. We also have acres of seclusion in the upscale Southern Hills Addition.

The list of “Who’s Who” that have visited Mountain Vista is second-to-none. Dan Boren-former United States Congressman, Jeff Stone-CEO of Skeeter Boats, Toby Rowland-Voice of the Oklahoma Sooners and Jim Traber-Former Baltimore Oriole and OKC radio host, are just a few that have made BeaversBendVacations.com their vacation destination.

We always feature free s’mores kits and firewood. There are no additional charges for cleaning or insurance and there are a few extras that our guests love! You’ll never pay resort fees or incur needless add-on charges at our vacation home.

Will my Beavers Bend Cabin be secluded?

Mountain Fork River

Many luxury cabins in Beavers Bend tend to oversell how many people they can accommodate. We do just the opposite…your comfort is our priority. Scrutinize any cabin stating they can hold 15-20 people. Sleeping bags scattered all over the place isn’t our style.

July is packed at Mountain Vista but we have dates available in August and September. The fall foliage season is only a few months away and it’s one of our busiest times of the year.

Will my Beavers Bend cabin Be secluded?

Mountain Vista, Broken Bow, OK

Make sure you know the answer regarding “Will my Beavers Bend cabin be secluded?”

We’d love to help you plan a Beavers Bend getaway. Two-million tourists visit Broken Bow annually for a reason…It’s gorgeous here!

The right picture is at the Broken Bow Lake dam bridge. Water continues to rise with each passing day. Several more inches of rainfall is expected over Memorial Day weekend. Broken Bow Lake and campgrounds in the Beavers Bend State Park area remain closed.

Heavy Rain Is Impacting Broken Bow Lake

Heavy Rain Is Impacting Broken Bow Lake

Heavy rain is impacting Broken Bow Lake according the area’s premiere fishing guide, Bryce Archey of BrokenBowLakeGuide.com.

“All boat ramps are closed until further notice. Depending on rains and what the Corp of Engineers can generate, my best case scenario for a ramp to open is three weeks. The park is still open but most camping in and around the lake is closed. We really don’t know when everything will be back open. Weather controls everything,” Archey said.

The flooding comes at a horrible time for tourism in the Beavers Bend State Park area. Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner and this will certainly have a significant financial impact to businesses in Broken Bow during the upcoming heavy tourist season.

Upscale luxury cabins in Beavers Bend State Park remain booked for the holiday weekend but toursim numbers will definitely be down until Broken Bow Lake is reopened.

Even though torrential rains have put a damper on activities in Beavers Bend State Park there are still many places to enjoy in Broken Bow. Download our app for all the local recommendations.

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015 cabins are in high demand and it is almost too late to reserve a top one.

Holidays and weekends are golden for most upper-end cabins in Broken Bow, OK. There will always be a few cancelations so keep checking the calendar on cabin management websites. Always remember to watch out for hidden fees.

Your last few clicks on a website before reserving a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend are important. This is where the “gotcha’s” sometimes come into play. Fees for insurance, cleaning and resort charges will make an inexpensive cabin sometimes become very costly.

We never charge these add-on fees at Mountain Vista cabin Beavers Bend.

There are a few essential items to bring for your Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015 visit to Broken Bow. You know all the essentials; bug spray, sunscreen and a first-aid kit. An item tourists usually forget to bring is a fire starter log for the fire pit.

These starter logs work great in the fire pit. If you are like me and have forgotten most of the tips from Boy Scouts, you will be happy about “cheating” a little to get the blaze started for your s’mores!

Tips on Buying A Cabin In Beavers Bend

Tips on Buying a cabin in Beavers Bend

Do you love Broken Bow and need tips on buying a cabin in Beavers Bend? Here are a few things we’ve learned through the years.

The tourism industry in Beavers Bend State Park is booming and many people have bought into the lucrative action by purchasing luxury cabins in the Kiamichi Mountains. If you’re considering building or buying a current cabin pay attention to the following details…

Building Vs. Buying an existing cabin: If you want to rent your vacation home and are considering building there are pluses and minuses. You can build exactly what you want but the downside is you will lose approximately a year of rentals due to the long construction time.  Luxury cabin construction in Broken Bow is often a slow, tedious process.

Building while living out of town: It can be a nightmare depending on how far away you live from Beavers Bend State Park. The year we build Mountain Vista resulted in about 30 round-trip jaunts to Broken Bow to checkout the progress. Being able to find a builder you can trust is paramount to easing the stress. They’re very difficult to find!

Why is this cabin for sale? There’s usually a good reason a luxury rental cabin is for sale…It hasn’t been renting well! To be a successful in the Broken Bow luxury cabin business your cabin needs to have a unique story. For us, it’s our magnificent views, upscale amenities and seclusion. We’re simply not “just another cabin.” Our aggressive marketing and media experience have helped Mountain Vista become one of the most popular luxury cabins in Oklahoma. We had the cabin rented for many days long before construction was completed.

Who will market the cabin? Do you have the experience to do it yourself? The competition is steep to be successful and it takes much more than a homemade website. Many first-time luxury cabin owners make the mistake of trusting a Beavers Bend cabin management company who already has 20-50 properties available. How will you receive personalized marketing and media attention when you’re competing against this many other cabins on the same website? Will your three-bedroom cabin be recommended by the cabin management company in Broken Bow or the other 15 they have available?

Who to trust for maintenance and repairs? If you live outside of Broken Bow or don’t have local connections you can get taken to the cleaners when trying to have maintenance and repairs on your property. A long learning curve is usually required for new luxury cabin owners in Beavers Bend State Park.

These are just a few tips on buying a cabin in Beavers Bend. If you’re considering renting a luxury cabin to upscale clients let us know. We’ll help you break through the starting gate! Sherri and I can give you additional pros and cons of luxury cabin rentals in Broken Bow. We can also offer high-end marketing and video solutions to enhance your property.
