Take the Talimena Drive. It’s a beautiful trip up the mountain offering breathtaking photography opportunities.
Explore the David Boren Hiking Trail.
Play Cedar Creek Golf Course.
Float Mountain Fork River. Fly fishing and canoeing are popular activities in the fall.
Enjoy the deck at Food Network Champion Chef, Tabb Singleton’s Moon Tower Bar and Grill.
Rolling Fork Takery also has an amazing deck area and fantastic cuisine.

Mountain Vista has a 50 mile views from the deck!

If traveling to Beavers Bend from the Oklahoma City area during October to mid-November, I recommend taking I-40 to Sallisaw. Jaunt down 250 South and enjoy the fall foliage. You’ll see picturesque views and experience many winding roads.

There are a few weekdays available in October and November at Mountain Vista.

We do things very differently at Mountain Vista cabin. There are never charges for firewood and s’mores kits. Our fire pit is very popular with guests during the fall and winter months. Others charge $100 for a few logs and do not issue refunds for unused firewood.

Mountain Vista features acres of seclusion in the upscale Southern Hills Addition. We’re minutes away from Mountain Fork River and Broken Bow Lake.

Summer Beavers Bend Cabins

The great Summer Beavers Bend cabins are in high demand.

We have a few openings at the end of June and Mountain Vista is almost packed in July.

There are usually plenty of star sightings in Beavers Bend when the weather gets warm and Memorial Weekend was no exception. New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson was seen at many locations near Broken Bow Lake.

Peterson is pictured above with my lifetime pal, Skip Copeland. Skip owns the new Rolling Fork Takery restaurant in Hochatown. He and wife, Shellye, will make a dramatic impact on the dining scene in Beavers Bend.

Rolling Fork is just north of Girls Gone Wine to the right. It will be open in the next few weeks. Trust me, you’ve never seen anything like this concept in Beavers Bend. Great organic food, live music and great people.

Mountain Vista Horseshoes

Our new Beavers Bend horseshoe pit has already been a huge hit with guests! Recent Mountain Vista visitors said they spent tons of time throwing shoes last weekend.

The beautiful new custom pit was installed last week with “Mountain Vista” ingrained on the box.

Solar lights have been installed in case the battle for ringers goes past dusk. The Mountain Vista horseshoe pit receives additional light from the second level of the cabin. Seats are situated around the pit to provide relaxation in case of a grueling match.

The history of horseshoes dates back to the second century. Here’s more than you’ve ever wanted to know about the sport! You’ll be able to see the Kiamichi Mountains from the Mountain Vista horseshoe pit.

When choosing a luxury rental cabin in Beavers Bend State Park there are a few things to consider…

How close is the nearest cabin?
How close will the nearest live music be cranking at night?
Does the cabin charge resort fees?
Does the cabin charge cleaning fees?
Does the cabin charge insurance fees?

Do a little homework before visiting a Broken Bow luxury cabin and you’ll have a much better experience. Also pay attention the popular “firewood charge.” If $100 for a few sticks of wood sounds like a great deal to you, go for it!

We never charge these add-on fees at Mountain Vista. The firewood is free along with s’mores kits and a plethora of other upscale amenities.

Mountain Vista has a few days open next week, but hardly any weekends available until August.
