We decided years ago to never get into the “add-on-fee” business with our guests. These are unnecessary charges and often tack on 20% to the nightly rate.

Remember the Mountain Vista difference…we always feature free firewood and s’mores kits. No generic junk at our vacation home! You’ll never pay resort, insurance, incidental or hot tub fees when reserving our luxury cabin!

I see lots of companies posting pictures of nice looking cabins but not indicating a surprise you’ll discover a few feet away…another cabin. Do your homework and demand perimeter pictures of any property before reserving a cabin in Beavers Bend.

We’re only five miles from Broken Bow Lake and a couple of minutes drive to Mountain Fork River.

Remember, there are rental cabins owned by companies with 30-60 other properties and vacation homes in Beavers Bend State Park. Mountain Vista is our vacation home and you’ll see the difference upon arrival!

You Don’t Want To Feel The Noise…

Tourism is booming in Beavers Bend, low oil prices seem to have little impact on cabin building in Broken Bow. New cabins continue to pop up everywhere…low to high-end.

It’s a good idea to map out exactly where your luxury cabin rental is located before making your reservation. Many are being built near busy highways. Surprise! The sweet sounds of logging trucks and 18-wheelers zooming by at 65 miles per hour isn’t exactly my definition of a relaxing getaway in the forest!

Cabin websites don’t mention this, but it’s something to consider if you don’t know the lay of the land in Beavers Bend. Ask for a 360-degree video of the property before you book a cabin. Don’t simply believe pictures on a website. This will eliminate all surprises upon arrival.

One of the biggest complaints for first-time cabin visitors to Broken Bow is a lack of seclusion. Many are located mere feet away from another cabin. Others are located near a bar or restaurant with loud music playing nightly. How will you know for sure? Ask for the video and do your homework.

Quiet Riot was a great old band, but you don’t want to “feel the noise” when staying in Beavers Bend!

We love logging trucks in the Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma. They’re a staple of our economy, but there’s no need for them to be cranking by your cabin on a busy highway. Demand seclusion when staying in Beavers Bend.

Beavers Bend Fall Foliage Season

Beavers Bend fall foliage season is just around the corner and now’s the time to book your stay at Mountain Vista.

Only a few weekend dates remain available to enjoy our spectacular 20-mile views from the deck.

Oklahoma City residents traveling to Beavers Bend State Park in October and November should take the Talimena Drive. Travel on I-40 East to Sallisaw, OK and venture down Highway 259 South to Broken Bow. Your trip will be incomplete without taking in this scenic jaunt during Beavers Bend fall foliage season.

This route will only add about an hour to your trip but it’s well worth it.

When searching for luxury lodging accommodations during Beavers Bend fall foliage season, do your homework. There are 1,000 cabins available for rent, many from owners. Others are marketed by large cabin management companies.

Determine if you want to deal directly with cabin owners or management companies. Many cabins are popping up in Broken Bow lately that are owned solely by management companies.

These cabins are often less luxurious than someone’s vacation home. They exist only for a management company to make a profit. These management companies have 30-50 cabins to juggle. Often the renter is simply a “number” rather than a guest.

At Mountain Vista, you’re surrounded by acres of seclusion and stunning views. Our views are so spectacular that other management companies have fraudulently put them on their websites. I guess imitation is the best form of flattery!

Free S’Mores At Mountain Vista

We always feature free s’mores at Mountain Vista!

Others are charging $25 – $40 for generic s’mores. We always have name brand products and occasional extras such as root beer, gourmet coffee and tea.

If you arrive at Mountain Vista and suddenly realize you forgot to pack Starbucks Coffee, no worries. Mountain Vista has a Keurig machine and we offer many Starbucks varieties at no additional charge.

When traveling to Beavers Bend State Park on a budget it’s important to factor in all the add-on fees many cabin companies charge. The initial rate may look low but hold on to your wallet! Charges for firewood, insurance, cleaning and resort fees will increase your nightly payment significantly.

May is a great month for fishing on Broken Bow Lake. I visited with Broken Bow’s superstar fishing guide, Bryce Archey, and he reports smallmouth bass and walleye are hitting his line frequently. We offer a “Fish and Stay” package with Bryce where you can enjoy a fantastic day on the lake with him while staying at Mountain Vista.
