Beavers Bend Brewery Moving To Hochatown

Here’s a nice feature on the Beavers Bend Brewery. They’re moving from Idabel to the Broken Bow Lake area near Girls Gone Wine.

The post indicates a mid-March opening, just in time for the busy spring break season.

The tourism business continues to flourish near Beavers Bend State Park. Girls Gone Wine has enjoyed tremendous success and does a great job of giving back to the community.

The hottest new business to open near Broken Bow Lake is the Moon Tower Bar and Grill. Led by two-time Food Network champion chef, Tabb Singleton. Our Mountain Vista cabin visitors give it five stars!

Summer dates at Mountain Vista will begin filling quickly. Make sure to reserve your luxury cabin getaway soon. There are about 1,000 luxury cabins in Beavers Bend. Look for add-on fees before booking.

Others are charging $25 – $40 for generic s’mores. We always have name brand products and occasional extras such as root beer, gourmet coffee and tea.

If you arrive at Mountain Vista and suddenly realize you forgot to pack Starbucks Coffee, no worries. Mountain Vista has a Keurig machine and we offer many Starbucks varieties at no additional charge.

When traveling to Beavers Bend State Park on a budget it’s important to factor in all the add-on fees many cabin companies charge. The initial rate may look low but hold on to your wallet! Charges for firewood, insurance, cleaning and resort fees will increase your nightly payment significantly.

May is a great month for fishing on Broken Bow Lake. I visited with Broken Bow’s superstar fishing guide, Bryce Archey, and he reports smallmouth bass and walleye are hitting his line frequently. Winter Hiking In Beavers Bend

Winter hiking in Beavers Bend is fantastic! Exploring the beautiful streams around Mountain Fork River while enjoying the peaceful landscape of the Kiamichi Mountains will warm your soul during these frosty days.

There are numerous hiking trails near the Broken Bow Lake area that will allow you to get plenty of exercise to fight off the added pounds Old Man Winter occasionally delivers.

A few of our favorites are the David L. Boren Hiking Trail, located near Mountain Vista luxury cabin in Beavers Bend. I also recommend going a couple of miles into Beavers Bend State Park and walking near the streams on the Beaver Creek Trail.

Remember to take a first-aid kit, water and something to eat such as a power bar. Use a location app on your smartphone while you are enjoying winter hiking in Beavers Bend. I always wear sunglasses or goggles to protect my eyes from tree limbs during my hiking adventures.

Winter hiking in Beavers Bend will allow you to see for miles through the Kiamichi Mountains due to the foliage being down during December-early March. There are numerous marked trails throughout the area that are safe for your family to hike for miles while enjoying nature.

At the end of a long hike in Beavers Bend, grab a cold-one and bite to eat at the Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Taproom in Hochatown. This is a favorite stop for many of our guests at Mountain Vista cabin.

Visitors continue flock to Broken Bow, OK during the winter months. It’s frigid here today but there are usually numerous days in January and February when the weather is “perfect.”

Our 2015 calendar is beginning to fill quickly. We have a few Spring Break dates available and holidays are also beginning to be reserved. Our Winter special continues through February. Check-in Monday or Tuesday and receive a 20% discount. Stay three-nights and the fourth is free!

A frequent question we’re asked is “what are the top activities for kids in Beavers Bend?” School is out for most ArkLaTex children and they’re arriving in droves to our area, searching for fun, sun and the glistening water of Mountain Fork River and Broken Bow Lake. The Beavers Bend State Park/Broken Bow Lake area offers numerous outdoor recreational choices for children.

A train ride through Beavers Bend State Park is fun for the entire family and offers breathtaking glimpses of the gorgeous scenery along the Mountain Fork River. Among other top activities for kids in Beavers Bend is taking a float trip on the river in a canoe or kayak. Wild Goose Canoe and Kayak Rentals is highly recommended from many of our guests at Mountain Vista Cabin. Remember to have a life jacket on everyone; there are rapid water areas on parts of the river.

Hochatown Amusements features miniature golf and Go Kart racing, they’re located across the street from the Beavers Bend State Park entrance on Highway 259 North.

July 4th Beavers Bend Cabin Tips

If you’re looking for July 4th Beavers Bend cabin tips at Broken Bow Lake, elite accommodations are limited by this time of the year. Our holiday bookings are reserved months in advance.

Several potential Beavers Bend State Park visitors will surely cancel their reservations before Independence Day. We once had a tree trimmer scheduled to arrive July 4th…He had an accident, fell out of a tree and nearly died. Needless to say, he couldn’t make it to Mountain Vista the next day! We’re happy to report he’s doing well now but it’s a perfect example that cancellations do happen…here are a few tips to possibly land the luxury Oklahoma cabin of your dreams during peak and holiday dates in the heavily visited Kiamichi Mountain region.

1. Ask to be placed on a waiting list with a Broken Bow cabin company. If they don’t have one, give them a few demerit points and take your business elsewhere. All reputable property management organizations should have a waiting list for potential guests. We do. Contact us at 405-535-8055 or email [email protected] and we’ll gladly add you to the list in case we have a cancellation.

2. Keep checking cabin website availability calendars. Ours is updated several times daily and if a guest has an emergency cancellation, we announce it to the world on social media and our Beavers Bend app.

3. Get on a luxury cabin newsletter mailing list. If your favorite cabin company isn’t communicating and keeping in touch with you regarding promotions and VIP special offers, find another one!

Our spring and summer dates are filling fast. The next opening at Mountain Vista is June 1-4 and we don’t have a weekend available until August. Remember to book early for weekends and holidays in Beavers Bend! These peak dates are highly sought after and each year we get many phone calls and emails from people wishing they’d have reserved their July 4th Beavers Bend cabin earlier in the year.

Take a hike, play a round of golf, float Mountain Fork River or hire a fishing guide to help you land the big trout and bass that are plentiful in our area. Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest

The Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest is a wildly popular event held each June at Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK. The festival features forestry competitions and showcases the heritage and culture of Kiamichi Country.
