Beavers Bend Continues To Ride The Storm Out

Beavers Bend Continues To Ride The Storm Out Beavers Bend Continues To Ride The Storm Out

Torrential rainfall over the past month is still affecting many in the Broken Bow Lake region. Beavers Bend continues to ride the storm out.

These pictures are once again courtesy of Bryce Archey, owner of BrokenBowLakeGuide.com. Bryce is the only fishing guide we endorse on Broken Bow Lake. The left pic in the parking lot at Beavers Bend Marina shows flooding is nearly covering the top of restrooms located close to the boat ramps.

The right picture is at the Broken Bow Lake dam bridge. Water continues to rise with each passing day. Several more inches of rainfall is expected over Memorial Day weekend. Broken Bow Lake and campgrounds in the Beavers Bend State Park area remain closed.

We hope you enjoy this holiday weekend wherever you are. Thousands read our blog each month and we thank you for the great feedback. We blog to educate you on how to choose a luxury cabin in Broken Bow and promote our wonderful area.

If you’re searching for the best breakfast, coffee or diner with a view, we’ve written about it over the past several years.  You’ll also find wacky tidbits such as how we teamed with our old friend and founder of the legendary rock band REO SpeedWagon for a video of Mountain Vista cabin.

Only a few dates remain open for the summer. Reserve your luxury cabin stay in Beavers Bend State Park soon. Bookings have been intense lately…we’ll have no dates available in July very soon.

Please remember why we celebrate this Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to our veterans who have sacrificed so much for the United States of America. We honor you this weekend.

It’s pouring everywhere in the ArkLatex. If you have to be in the rain, it may as well be in Beavers Bend!

This song certainly seems apropos considering our recent weather conditions…Enjoy and Keep Ridin’ The Storm Out!

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015 cabins are in high demand and it is almost too late to reserve a top one.

Holidays and weekends are golden for most upper-end cabins in Broken Bow, OK. There will always be a few cancelations so keep checking the calendar on cabin management websites. Always remember to watch out for hidden fees.

Your last few clicks on a website before reserving a luxury cabin in Beavers Bend are important. This is where the “gotcha’s” sometimes come into play. Fees for insurance, cleaning and resort charges will make an inexpensive cabin sometimes become very costly.

We never charge these add-on fees at Mountain Vista cabin Beavers Bend.

There are a few essential items to bring for your Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015 visit to Broken Bow. You know all the essentials; bug spray, sunscreen and a first-aid kit. An item tourists usually forget to bring is a fire starter log for the fire pit.

These starter logs work great in the fire pit. If you are like me and have forgotten most of the tips from Boy Scouts, you will be happy about “cheating” a little to get the blaze started for your s’mores!

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015

Our app will make your Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2o15 visit more enjoyable. Scan the QR code above and keep it on your iPhone, Android and tablet. We have all the local Broken Bow hot spots listed on it. You will also have access to my blog and several years of tourist tips to consider when visiting a luxury cabin in Broken Bow.

We tried to think of everything when creating our app along with the Mobile Roadie team in Los Angeles. Thousands enjoy occasional “special offers” and last-minute Beavers Bend cabin deals.  Need a fishing license? We tell you how to get one. Want the best fishing guide on Broken Bow Lake? It is all there on our app.

Beavers Bend Memorial Day 2015 is just around the corner. Make your plans to visit Mountain Vista cabin before the holiday rush.

Weddings in Beavers Bend

The Willow’s are originally from Memphis, TN and fell in love with McCurtain County while passing through years ago.

“We moved here from Memphis in 1997 after logging many miles driving to DeQueen, Arkansas, where we were having Willow Furniture built for our wholesale showrooms. One day driving back to Memphis, we decided everything was so beautiful we should just move here. We called a realtor and told him we had to have a place where we could immediately go to work; no time to build. He said he had the perfect place. We were coming the next weekend to pick up furniture and had a look. It was so perfect it scared us. After thinking about it, we called the realtor and declined. A couple of months later, the realtor called and invited us to stay at the ranch by ourselves as it was still furnished but unoccupied. We accepted and knew immediately it was perfect,” Peggy said.

Beavers Bend Spring Break Tips

Beavers Bend Spring Break Tips

If you are looking for Beavers Bend Spring Break tips, you have come to the right place!

Broken Bow luxury cabins are packed for two weeks every March. Most schools in Oklahoma and Texas have separate Spring Break weeks. This is always the official kickoff to a busy tourist season in Beavers Bend State Park.

It is tough to fit in all the activities available in our area in only a few days. Hopefully these Beavers Bend Spring Break tips will enhance your stay in the Kiamichi Mountains.

1. Download the Beavers Bend App we created. It gives you loads of information and local tourist tips. Nearly every phone number or website you will need is located on the app. We also give our thousands of app fans periodic VIP specials.

2. Drive the speed limit. Law enforcement will be out in droves on Broken Bow Lake, in town and throughout Beavers Bend State Park. No heavy-footing the gas pedal, thus forcing you to contribute to the Broken Bow Municipal coffers!

3. Visit Adam and Eve’s Coffee House. We love this place! They feature tremendous coffee along with great breakfast and lunches. There is no place in Broken Bow that offers better service. This coffee shop would be a huge hit in Oklahoma City or Dallas.

4. Hire “The Broken Bow Lake Guide.”  Bryce Archey is the most popular guide in the area. I enjoyed a few outings with him last year and have more booked for 2015.

5. Eat at Shady Oaks Restaurant. They have the best burgers in Beavers Bend. Their catfish dinner is tremendous.

6. Visit Girls Gone Wine. This popular winery is a huge hit with Broken Bow tourists. They feature a variety of wines and you can even make your own batch.

7. Hike the David Boren Trail. The trail features scenic bluffs and terrain to challenge the novice or experienced hiking enthusiast.

8. Play Cedar Creek Golf Course. This 18-hole gem receives stellar reviews from our guests at Mountain Vista cabin.

9. Rent a boat from Beavers Bend Marina. They offer a variety boats to suit your needs. Make sure to reserve early and Spring Break is a peak time on Broken Bow Lake.

10. Enjoy dinner at Abendigo’s. This has been a favorite upscale restaurant for many years in our area. We always hear great reviews from our cabin guests after an outing to Abendigo’s.

Follow these Beavers Bend Spring Break tips and let us know your favorites. Most luxury cabins are filled for Spring Break. We only have March 13th available.

Typically, we do not do one-nighters but will allow it during this peak period. If you already have reservations somewhere and want to stay a day later or arrive a day earlier, contact us at 405-535-8055.

Beavers Bend Cabin Fees

Beavers Bend Cabin Fees

We’ve told you about exorbitant Beavers Bend cabin fees for months!

The Broken Bow Lake luxury cabin up-charges are skyrocketing for many cabin management companies in Beavers Bend State Park. Add-on charges nearing 20% are popping up everywhere and we’ve received tremendous feedback from tourists who appreciate the consumer tips we’ve provided here on our blog.

We were the first to blog in Beavers Bend many years ago. Back then, we started with only a handful of visitors reading and now thousands flock here monthly for information. That’s pretty cool!

Beavers Bend Cabin Fees

When I travel across the country and stay in hotels one of my biggest pet peeves is add-on charges. Most hotels continue to gouge guests with Wi-Fi fees…That’s ridiculous!

Sherri and I decided when we built Mountain Vista cabin in Broken Bow that we’d never resort to penny-pinching guests with fees like “Resort Charges.” Other unnecessary luxury cabin charges are firewood, insurance and upfront cleaning fees. There’s simply no need for you to pay these. You never will with us!

Our guests at Mountain Vista enjoy the added amenities we provide at no charge…high-end hand soap in addition to free s’mores kits throughout the year. We never use generic products. If I’m spending nearly $400 per-night, even the toilet paper better be expensive…Ours is!

If you own a luxury cabin in Broken Bow and are searching for a marketing and management company that utilizes state-of-the-art media production, contact us. We do things very differently from those who charge you for advertising and placing cheap looking pictures on a homemade website.

Beavers Bend Cabin Fees

Only a handful of Spring Break dates remain available at Mountain Vista and we just opened Valentines Weekend. Remember to do your homework before choosing a luxury cabin in Broken Bow.

Make sure the cabin you see online is truly what you will be renting. The Beavers Bend cabin rental business is competitive and we’ll continue to educate you about the proper way to choose a luxury property.

We’ve told you about others fraudulently using a picture of our 20-mile view on their websites for years…Lately, a few of our competitors are plastering the words “Mountain Vista” on their websites so they will appear to be affiliated with us or have the same views we market. Don’t fall for it!

There are many great cabins in Beavers Bend but very few that don’t have add-on fees. We’ve remained in the upper echelon of cabins in Oklahoma because of unmatched views, seclusion, upscale amenities and loyal visitors who stay with us 4-5 times per year.

Remember, just say “NO” to Beavers Bend cabin fees…we have!

Winter Hiking In Beavers Bend

Winter hiking in Beavers Bend is fantastic! Exploring the beautiful streams around Mountain Fork River while enjoying the peaceful landscape of the Kiamichi Mountains will warm your soul during these frosty days.

There are numerous hiking trails near the Broken Bow Lake area that will allow you to get plenty of exercise to fight off the added pounds Old Man Winter occasionally delivers.

A few of our favorites are the David L. Boren Hiking Trail, located near Mountain Vista luxury cabin in Beavers Bend. I also recommend going a couple of miles into Beavers Bend State Park and walking near the streams on the Beaver Creek Trail.

Remember to take a first-aid kit, water and something to eat such as a power bar. Use a location app on your smartphone while you are enjoying winter hiking in Beavers Bend. I always wear sunglasses or goggles to protect my eyes from tree limbs during my hiking adventures.

Winter Hiking In Beavers Bend

Winter hiking in Beavers Bend will allow you to see for miles through the Kiamichi Mountains due to the foliage being down during December-early March. There are numerous marked trails throughout the area  that are safe for your family to hike for miles while enjoying nature.

Winter Hiking In Beavers Bend

At the end of a long hike in Beavers Bend, grab a cold-one and bite to eat at the Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Taproom in Hochatown. This is a favorite stop for many of our guests at Mountain Vista cabin.

Visitors continue flock to Broken Bow, OK during the winter months. It’s frigid here today but there are usually numerous days in January and February when the weather is “perfect.”

There’s a new hot dog food truck located near Stevens Gap Restaurant. I’ll have pictures and more info on them soon.

A new winery is being built by legendary female professional bass fishing pro, Vojai Reed. Broken Bow already has a highly successful winery that is a tremendous hot spot in town. Girls Gone Wine is an amazing tourist attraction for Beavers Bend visitors and another will certainly bring more visibility and choices for tourists in the Kiamichi Mountains. We’ll have an update on the new winery soon.

We’ve always admired the tremendous philanthropy Girls Gone Wine does for Broken Bow, OK. They give scholarships to high school students and do earth shaking work for rescue dogs in the  area with their b’ARK wine.

Broken Bow Christmas Cabins

Broken Bow Christmas Cabins

Broken Bow Christmas cabins are in high demand every year because Beavers Bend is a great place to enjoy the holiday season!

There are a few things to consider when searching for Broken Bow Christmas cabins; Does the cabin management company decorate the cabin so you will be able to get in the “Holiday Spirit?”.

Most people staying in Broken Bow Christmas cabins do not want to bother with the hassle of bringing their own decorations. Beavers Bend cabin management companies or owners must foot the bill for decorating cabins… and that does not happen often. Make sure your cabin will be decorated for the holidays.

Broken Bow Christmas Cabins

Do your homework and make sure you will have a fully equipped kitchen with all the extras you will need to prepare a fabulous holiday meal.  Guests at Mountain Vista cabin in Beavers Bend who have stayed at other luxury properties in Broken Bow give us great feedback on our kitchen.  It is always one of the most frequent compliments we receive from visitors. We try and equip it with all the comforts you are accustomed to having at home.

Broken Bow Christmas Cabins

Other factors you should consider before reserving Broken Bow Christmas cabins include:

  • Where is the cabin located? Make sure it is not near another cabin or noisy road. Also verify the addition. Is it an upscale area or in close proximity to a residential area? You do not want to rent a cabin in eyeshot of a trailer park. This happens to people frequently!
  • You get what you pay for. If the rental rate on your luxury cabin seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you find a “cheap” deal, especially when searching for Broken Bow Christmas cabins, watch out. You will be in store for a surprise present at checkout.
  • Add-on fees. You will not be in the “Yuletide Spirit” after seeing your credit card jammed with extra charges for firewood, insurance and cleaning. We never gouge guests with these needless fees at Mountain Vista luxury cabin in Beavers Bend.

We have enjoyed another tremendous year at Mountain Vista. Our calendar is packed for the holiday season. The popularity and demand to stay in our vacation home has increased far beyond our wildest dreams. Only two weekends remain available this year. Reservations for 2015, including Spring Break and holidays are already being booked.

There are many great Broken Bow Christmas cabins that offer a variety of amenities and price ranges. Choose the one that is right for you. But make sure to do your homework.
